Norfolk is one of the most rural counties in England. Outside Norwich and the market towns, homes and farms are spread across a huge area, and many are a long way from the nearest fibre cabinet. For these properties, Starlink offers a fast connection through satellites rather than the phone line, and it has become a common sight on farmhouses and barn conversions across the county.

Every landscape, a different challenge

  • The north Norfolk coast: exposed to wind and salt air, with much of it in the Norfolk Coast National Landscape and several conservation areas.
  • The Brecks: tall lines of Scots pine that can block part of the sky.
  • The Waveney valley: thatched and timber-framed cottages, and willows along the river.
  • The Broads: its own planning authority, with rules about antennas facing waterways.
  • The Fens around Downham Market: wide open skies, strong winds and soft ground for poles.

How we install

We check the view of the sky first, then mount the antenna on the best position: a roof, chimney, gable, outbuilding or ground pole. The cable is run neatly and sealed into the building, the router placed for the best coverage, and the connection extended to offices, annexes and barns with cabling or access points where needed.

Local engineers

Our engineers live and work in the areas they cover, so they know the buildings, the planning rules and the weather. We also cover TV aerials, CCTV and WiFi across the county, so one visit can sort out the lot.

Starlink makes most sense where fixed broadband is slow or unreliable and there's a clear view of the sky. That covers a great many farms and village homes in Norfolk, but not all of them. Fibre is reaching more villages each year, and some homes with poor WiFi indoors actually have a decent line to the house.

When you call, we'll ask about your current connection, how you use it and what the property is like. If Starlink is the right answer, we'll explain where the antenna could go and what the installation involves, with your price quoted free on the phone. If it isn't, we'll say so and suggest what would help instead.

Working from home and holiday lets

Two of the most common reasons people in Norfolk choose Starlink are working from home and running a holiday let. For both, the connection needs to reach the right rooms, so we position the router carefully and add cabling, mesh WiFi or access points to studies, garden offices, annexes and guest bedrooms.

Which parts of Norfolk do you cover for Starlink?

All of rural Norfolk. Our main Starlink areas are the north Norfolk coast around Holt, the farmland around Fakenham, the Brecks around Swaffham and the Waveney valley around Diss, plus the villages in between.

Do you install Starlink in the Broads?

Yes. The Broads has its own planning rules, including restrictions on antennas facing a waterway, so we choose positions that stay within them.

Do you cover the Fens around Downham Market?

Yes. West Norfolk's fens have wide open skies that suit Starlink, though wind and soft ground mean the mount and pole base need to be solid.

Does the installation include the Starlink subscription?

No. The broadband service and subscription are provided by Starlink. Our installation price is separate, and we explain the work and any mounting or networking equipment included before you book.

Can you install a Starlink kit I've already bought?

Yes. Tell us which kit you have and send a few photos of the property, and we'll talk through the mounting position, cable route and any brackets you need.
