Meet the engineer

25+ years in the trade, still out on jobs every week

I’ve been in this trade for over 25 years now, and in that time there isn’t much in TV, security or cabling that I haven’t tackled. I do all audio-visual work, from televisions and sound systems to whole-home entertainment, and I supply, install and maintain CCTV systems. I fit intruder alarms, door entry and access control, and I run network cabling, from access points to fully hard-wired installs. These days I’m fitting Starlink too, which has been a game-changer for homes that broadband never reached.

Whatever I’m working on, I treat it like it’s my own home: everything tested, everything tidy, and I don’t leave until you know how to use it.

Customer reviews

In our customers’ words

David, mentioned in these reviews, is our Head Technical Engineer.

WiFi & internet systems

I can’t recommend this company highly enough. Great work and always done with a real sense of care and expertise, it’s so refreshing to find a company that takes genuine pride in their work.

Additional CCTV cameras

David is so reliable and professional, we used him at our last home to fit the cctv and alarm system, and he fitted all the alarm and cctv at our current house, and we just had him back to fit a couple of extra cameras and a tv in our kitchen. Such a neat and tidy job. Would highly recommend him.

Digital aerial on a roof terrace

David is a lovely easy going man. Nothing was a problem for him. No moaning and groaning. He tested for the best reception before fitting the ariel and did a great job securing the cable and drilling a hole in the wall so the cable could come into the flat. He tuned in my TV so all was working before he left.

What we check before we leave

Every visit ends with the same checks, written down. This is what a typical aerial repair looks like on paper. You'll see the readings, not just hear that it's fixed.

About Digitel UK

Digitel UK is led by Head Technical Engineer David Elderfield, who brings over 25 years of experience in TV, satellite, security and audio visual work. With local engineers across the region, we install and repair TV aerials and satellite dishes, fit Starlink, and design and fit CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and door entry, WiFi networks, wall-mounted TVs and home cinema and sound systems for homes and businesses.

Alongside our TV and satellite work, our team has over 20 years of combined experience in the security industry. That breadth means one company can sort out your TV signal, secure your property and get WiFi into every room, with systems that work together.

The engineers we send

Every engineer who works under the Digitel name is employed by us, never hired in from whoever happens to be free that week. We only take on industry professionals with at least five years' experience who already live in, and have worked in, the area they cover.

That matters more than it sounds. An engineer who has spent years working around your town already knows which transmitter serves your street, which fixings survive on the coast and the little reception quirks of the area, so they don't learn at your expense. It also means help is close by, rather than fitting you around a route planned from the other side of the region.

Want to talk it through? Call or WhatsApp and you'll speak to an engineer, not a call centre.

How we work

We test first

Every TV job starts with a signal meter. We measure strength and quality at the aerial and at each TV point before recommending anything, so we can show you where the problem is. For security and networking, every job starts with a survey of the property.

We repair where we can

A surprising number of "I need a new aerial" calls turn out to be a corroded connector, water in a cable or a failed amplifier. If a repair will give you a reliable result, that's what we'll recommend. If something does need replacing, we'll explain why.

Fixed prices

You get a clear price before any work starts. If we find something unexpected on the day, we'll talk it through with you before doing anything extra.

We finish properly

We don't leave until every TV is tuned, every camera is checked by day and by night, and you know how to use the apps. Cables are clipped neatly, old equipment is taken away and your home is left tidy.

Local knowledge that makes a difference

East Anglia isn't a simple place to install TV and security equipment. Across the region we cover you'll find homes served by five different main transmitters, plus a network of smaller relays. Coastal towns from Felixstowe to Great Yarmouth face salt air and North Sea gales. Historic centres in Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Colchester, Saffron Walden and King's Lynn bring conservation-area rules and listed buildings. Out in the Fens and the Breckland, homes can be a long way from any mast.

Knowing which transmitter serves a particular street, which fixings survive on the coast and how to work sensitively on a listed building comes from years of doing the job locally. Our town pages share some of that knowledge, starting with Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Norwich.

Who we work for

  • Homeowners wanting a reliable picture, a secure home and WiFi that works everywhere
  • Landlords and letting agents needing aerials, door entry and alarms in rental properties, quickly and with minimal fuss for tenants
  • Managing agents looking after communal TV systems and door entry in blocks of flats
  • Businesses from shops and pubs to offices, farms and industrial units that need CCTV, access control, networks and TV distribution

Where we work

We cover every major town in Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, and the villages in between. That includes Ipswich, Lowestoft, Haverhill, Felixstowe, Sudbury and Newmarket in Suffolk; Colchester, Chelmsford, Southend, Basildon, Harlow and Brentwood in Essex; and Norwich, Great Yarmouth, King's Lynn, Thetford and Dereham in Norfolk. See every area we cover.

What to expect when you book

When you call or WhatsApp, we'll ask a few quick questions: your postcode, the type of property and what's happening. A photo of your aerial, dish or existing equipment helps. For most TV and satellite jobs we can give you a fixed price there and then. For CCTV, alarms, access control and networks, we arrange a short survey visit first. We'll agree a time that suits you, arrive when we say we will and explain what we've found before starting work. At the end, we test everything with you and show you how it works. We're open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm.

Our promise

Honest advice, a fixed price, tidy work and equipment that keeps working. If something isn't right after we've been, call us and we'll put it right. And we give priority to older and vulnerable customers who rely on their TV: say so when you call and we'll make sure you're not left waiting.

Most of our work comes from homeowners, landlords and businesses who want a job done once and done properly. Ask us anything before you book; we're happy to explain the options in plain English.
