TV wall mounting across Cambridge

Cambridge has historic and listed buildings in the centre, rows of Victorian terraces in Mill Road, Romsey and Chesterton, inter-war semis around the edges, and large new developments at Trumpington, Eddington, Great Kneighton and Northstowe. We mount TVs in all of them.

Victorian terraces

Terraced front rooms often have a chimney breast with alcoves, solid brick walls and lime plaster. We'd usually suggest an alcove position on a full-motion arm, or a lower fixing, rather than high on the chimney breast. Fixings go into sound brick, and cables are chased in or run in slim trunking.

Not sure which bracket? Tell an engineer your TV size and what the wall is made of, and get a straight answer with your price.

Walls and rooms we work with in Cambridge

  • Solid brick in older homes

    The challenge
Soft Victorian and Edwardian bricks and lime mortar crumble if they're drilled carelessly.
    How we do it
Careful drilling into sound brick, with resin or long anchors where the wall needs them.
  • Flint, rubble and old stone walls

    The challenge
Irregular walls with voids behind the plaster, where a standard fixing has nothing to grip.
    How we do it
We find solid material for each fixing and use resin anchors or a backing board.
  • Flats and rented homes

    The challenge
Concrete walls, landlord rules and making good when you move out.
    How we do it
The right drill and fixings for concrete, minimal holes and advice before we drill.
  • Corners and alcoves

    The challenge
A flat bracket leaves the screen angled away from where you actually sit.
    How we do it
A full-motion arm that swings the screen round to face the sofa.

New developments

Homes in Cambridge's new developments are mostly plasterboard on studs, with apartment blocks built in concrete. We fix into the studs or use concrete anchors, keep holes to a minimum and run cables inside stud walls to a plate behind the screen.

Rented homes and offices

We mount TVs for landlords and letting agents across the city, and fit screens in offices, labs and meeting rooms with HDMI and network cabling.

Can you mount a TV in a rented flat or student house?

Yes. We mount TVs for tenants with their landlord's permission, and for landlords and letting agents, keeping holes to what the bracket needs.

Do you cover the villages around Cambridge?

Yes, including Histon, Impington, Milton, Girton, Great Shelford, Sawston and Cottenham.

Can you mount a TV on a new-build wall at Trumpington or Eddington?

Yes. Most homes there have plasterboard on studs or concrete in apartment blocks. We use the right fixings for each.
