Wall-mounted TVs across Braintree

Braintree has an old market-town centre with period buildings around Bank Street and the Market Place, Victorian and inter-war housing around it, and large newer estates at Great Notley and on the edges of town. We mount TVs throughout Braintree and the surrounding villages.

Great Notley and newer estates

Homes built since the 1990s at Great Notley and elsewhere are mostly plasterboard on studs, often with open-plan kitchen and living areas. A TV must be fixed into the studs or with heavy-duty cavity fixings, never plasterboard plugs. These walls are ideal for hiding cables, which we run inside the wall to a plate behind the screen.

Not sure which bracket? Tell an engineer your TV size and what the wall is made of, and get a straight answer with your price.

Walls and rooms we work with in Braintree

  • Plasterboard and stud walls

    The challenge
Hollow walls can't hold a heavy TV on ordinary plugs, and the studs are rarely where you want the screen.
    How we do it
We find the studs and fix into them, or use heavy-duty cavity fixings rated well above the TV's weight.
  • Corners and alcoves

    The challenge
A flat bracket leaves the screen angled away from where you actually sit.
    How we do it
A full-motion arm that swings the screen round to face the sofa.
  • Solid brick in older homes

    The challenge
Soft Victorian and Edwardian bricks and lime mortar crumble if they're drilled carelessly.
    How we do it
Careful drilling into sound brick, with resin or long anchors where the wall needs them.
  • 75 and 85 inch screens

    The challenge
Big TVs weigh 30 kg or more and are easy to damage while lifting them onto a bracket.
    How we do it
Two-person fitting, a heavy-duty bracket and fixings rated for well over the weight.

Older homes in town and the villages

In the older parts of Braintree and in villages such as Coggeshall, walls can be solid brick, timber-framed or a mix, often with chimney breasts. We find sound material for each fixing, check the heat above any fire, and use slim trunking where cables can't be hidden.

Bedrooms and playrooms

Second TVs in bedrooms and playrooms are usually smaller, on tilt or swing brackets set at the right height for that room. We can add a network cable for a games console at the same time.

Can you mount a TV on a new-build wall in Great Notley?

Yes. Most homes in Great Notley have plasterboard on studs or block. We fix into the studs or the block behind, and run the cables inside the wall.

Do you cover the villages around Braintree?

Yes, including Rayne, Black Notley, Coggeshall, Cressing, Silver End, Gosfield and Shalford.

Can you move my TV to a different room?

Yes. We take down the bracket, fill the holes, mount the TV in its new room and run the aerial or network cable it needs.
