Cambridgeshire's Fens are flat, open and thinly settled. Farmhouses and smallholdings sit along drove roads miles from the nearest village, and many are a long way from a fibre cabinet. For these properties, Starlink can provide a fast connection where the phone line struggles.

Big skies, strong winds

The Fens' huge skies suit Starlink, which needs a wide, clear view. The same openness brings strong winds across the fields, so we use rigid brackets and poles, corrosion-resistant fixings and sealed cable entries. Where a pole is needed, we make sure the base is solid, as peat and silt soils can be soft.

Not sure Starlink suits your property? Send your postcode and a photo of where the antenna could go, and talk it through with an engineer.

Old buildings on moving ground

Many older Fen buildings have moved slightly over the years as the peat beneath them shrinks. We find solid material for every fixing and level the antenna mount carefully, rather than trusting the lines of the building.

Farms and rural businesses

Farms here often have offices, workshops and stores spread across a yard. We carry the connection to each building by cable or wireless link, and can add CCTV for gates and yards. We also cover TV aerials and satellite across the county.

Starlink suits Fen properties where fixed broadband is slow or unreliable, which still includes many isolated farmhouses and homes along the droves. Towns like Ely, St Ives and St Neots, and many villages near Cambridge, already have good fibre, so we'll always ask about your current connection first.

If Starlink is the right answer, we'll explain where the antenna could go and what the installation involves, with your price quoted free on the phone. If better WiFi coverage would solve the problem, we'll tell you.

Where we install in Cambridgeshire

Most of our Starlink work here is on the open Fens around Wisbech, Outwell and Upwell, March, Chatteris, Manea and Whittlesey, and on the fen edge around Ely, Littleport and Soham. We also cover farms and isolated homes in the rolling countryside west of Cambridge and around Huntingdon and St Neots.

Working from home and farm offices

A reliable connection matters for farm businesses and for the growing number of people working from home in the Fens. We place the router where the signal reaches the office and extend it to other buildings with cabling or access points.

Listed farmhouses and fen villages

The Fens have their share of old farmhouses, chapels converted to homes and listed buildings in villages like Upwell, Outwell and Wisbech St Mary. Where the main building isn't suitable, a pole in the garden or a bracket on a barn usually gives an even clearer view of the sky, with the cable run neatly to the house.

Already have Starlink but the signal doesn't reach the farm office or the far end of the house? We can extend it with cabling, mesh WiFi or access points without moving the antenna.

Is the Fens a good place for Starlink?

In many ways, yes. The open landscape gives a wide, clear view of the sky. The main challenges are strong winds and soft ground, so we use rigid mounts and solid pole bases.

Which parts of Cambridgeshire do you cover for Starlink?

All of rural Cambridgeshire, with most of our Starlink work out on the Fens around Wisbech, March, Chatteris, Whittlesey and Ely, and in the villages west of Cambridge.

Can you connect farm buildings spread across a yard?

Yes. We run network cabling or wireless links between buildings so offices, workshops and stores all have a connection.

Does the installation include the Starlink subscription?

No. The broadband service and subscription are provided by Starlink. Our installation price is separate, and we explain the work and any mounting or networking equipment included before you book.

Can you install a Starlink kit I've already bought?

Yes. Tell us which kit you have and send a few photos of the property, and we'll talk through the mounting position, cable route and any brackets you need.
